BRIEF In 2007, the licensing staff at Hallmark was presented with access to an archival library of Disney images, many of which had never been used. We were asked to create new designs that utilized the vintage artwork in fresh ways for inclusion in our license-renewal presentation.
SOLUTION I focused my efforts on a series of ink drawings of Mickey Mouse in evocative poses, writing and designing a series of three Hatch-Show-Print-inspired designs. They were presented as occasion cards, blank notes and a variety of consumer products.
RESULT The artwork was well received and was placed into production as blank notes. It was also used to decorate Hallmark’s licensing department. Disney’s licensing agreement with Hallmark was renewed.
